The Mazda CX-3 was presented yesterday in Portugal and we had the opportunity to try it out. Through the streets of downtown Lisbon, up to Parque das Nações, it was possible to confirm the qualities of this small SUV, especially the version equipped with the new Mazda diesel engine, a 1.5 SKYACTIV D, with 105 hp, 270 Nm and manual transmission. six speed SKYACTIV-MT.

This engine, which also features the optional SKYACTIV-Drive 6-speed automatic transmission, will also be available for the Mazda 2, albeit with 220 Nm of maximum torque, a reduction that Mazda justifies with the philosophy behind it. of each model.Mazda's work on this new engine has gone a long way towards increasing availability in the intermediate regimes (the ones we all use daily) making it easier to use and making the 1.5 SKYACTIV-D more pleasant and “rounder”. To make this possible the maximum torque is available between 1600 rpm and 2500 rpm. The official average consumption is 4 l/100, a record that we will try to validate in a future full trial.
